Stetsyshyn, Dr. Yurij

Yurij Stetsyshyn is Associate Professor (Docent) at the Department of Organic Chemistry in Lviv Polytechnic National University (Lviv, Ukraine). He graduated from I. Franko National University of Lviv, Department of the Genetic and Biotechnology (Ukraine), gaining an MS in Biology in 2001. In 2005, he obtained his PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Lviv Polytechnic National University. Dr. Stetsyshyn has taught courses in Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Lviv Polytechnic National University. He received a grant of President of Ukraine for young scientists twice (2007, 2009), Grant of the J. Mianowskiego fund (2011), and scholarship from the Queen Jadwiga Fund (2008). He is a Member of the Scientific Committee of East-West Chemical Conferences and a co-author of two textbooks and one manual in Biochemistry and Toxicology.In 2015, he received award from polish universities named after hetman Ivan Vyhovsky aimed to mark the services of Ukrainian citizens in development of science and culture, civil society and building democratic Ukraine that is directed towards Europe, connecting the best historical traditions as well as the old, present and future relations of democratic Ukraine with Poland and Europe. His research interests are focus on fabrication, study and application of smart polymer coatings, development of nanostructured, biocompatible, biomimeting, antibacterial and sensitive polymer systems, bionanotechnology etc.
